The full Arganic guide: How to really know your true skin type?

Welcome to the world of Arganic, where we believe that true beauty starts with deep understanding.
Before choosing any product, the most important step is to know exactly “who you’re talking to”… meaning: what’s your skin’s real story?

Many women think they have oily skin, while in reality it’s dry and simply overproducing oil to make up for the lack of moisture! Others think their skin is sensitive, when in fact it’s just exhausted from harsh chemical products.

Today, we’ll give you a simple “expert test” to help you determine your skin type the right way:

Step 1: Cleanse and wait
Wash your face with a gentle cleanser, pat it dry softly, and don’t apply anything at all. Wait for a full hour.

Step 2: Careful observation
After an hour, stand in front of the mirror and notice:

  • If your skin feels tight and dry, almost like it’s a size smaller than your face…
➝ You have dry skin. It needs deep hydration and rich natural oils and butters, like prickly pear cream and shea butter.

  • If your forehead, nose, and chin (the T-zone) are shiny, but your cheeks are normal or dry…
➝ You have combination skin (the most common!). You’ll need balancing products, like our Tea Tree face wash that gently cleanses oily areas without drying out the rest.

  • If your whole face is shiny, pores are visible, and the texture feels greasy…
➝ You have oily skin. Your best friend is gentle exfoliation and products that regulate sebum production. Our scrub will be your go-to.

  • If your skin feels comfortable—neither dry nor oily—with a smooth texture…
➝ Lucky you! You have normal skin. Your mission is to maintain this balance with consistent hydration and daily sun protection.

Knowing your skin type is the very first step in the right skincare journey.
Now that you’ve discovered your skin’s real story, you can choose the perfect heroes from the Arganic family to match it.
